STRATEGY

Our goal was to preserve the home’s early 1900s character while bringing modern functionality to this guest bath. The original clawfoot tub guided the design, inspiring a solution that married heritage with performance. A ceiling-mounted rain shower, wall-mounted controls, and a custom enclosed curtain system created a more functional, comfortable experience without sacrificing history.  Carrara marble, rich wood tones, and a vintage light fixture sourced locally, celebrate Saint Louis craftsmanship. Subtle fleur-de-lis corbels and a coffered ceiling add architectural depth, resulting in a space that feels both historically rooted and elegantly renewed.et fresh.

EXECUTION

This renovation required precision to blend old-world craftsmanship with modern solutions. The bathroom was taken down to the studs, allowing us to rebuild the space around the original tub while correcting plumbing and water containment issues. Every marble detail, from the picture-frame molding to the custom niche, was templated and hand-finished on site. Local artisans crafted the coffered ceiling and added fleur-de-lis corbels, ensuring the architectural integrity felt authentic to the home’s era.

SCOPE

Full-service bathroom remodel including demolition, space planning, finish selection, lighting and plumbing specification, custom millwork design, and project coordination with trades. The project scope included integration of the original clawfoot tub, installation of a new shower system, and complete detailing of surfaces, fixtures, and trim for a cohesive, historically inspired result.
